LISTEN to Radio Interview about MUSTANG, WW II & Chickasha Presentation
John delivers his dramatic, multi-media MUSTANG presentation this coming Monday night, Nov. 4th at the Grady County Historical Museum’s annual banquet in Chickasha. The program takes place in the Ballroom on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
John discusses his new World War II novel MUSTANG, which was the best-selling fiction book in Oklahoma after its release this past summer. It tells the epic story of young Oklahoma aviators during the war. One of them is a fictional Chickasha stalwart named in honor of Bob Patton, former Chickasha basketball great whom John played against in high school.
The presentation will explore the drama and heroism of Oklahomans in the skies over Europe as well as on the home front during history’s greatest and most terrible war. Oklahoma Hall of Fame journalist Patrick B. McGuigan calls MUSTANG “Perhaps the greatest American war novel since THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE.”
