Faith in Gods and Generals

Celebrated filmmaker Ron Maxwell (Gettysburg) has written and directed a memorable treatment of Jeff Shaara's best-selling epic of the War Between the States, Gods and Generals. Starring Robert Duvall as Robert E. Lee, Stephen Lang as Stonewall Jackson, and Jeff Daniels as Joshua Chamberlain, the 60-million dollar Warner Brothers epic is set for a February, 2003 release.

Maxwell commissioned Ted Baehr, acclaimed author and editor of Movie Guide magazine, to craft a companion book to the motion picture focusing on the Christian faith of several of the film's main characters and movie makers. Baehr enlisted an array of respected historians and authors to contribute to the book. For the key chapters on Lee and Jackson, he chose John J. Dwyer.
